About Me

My name is Emily, and I love the kitchen.

I especially love preparing simple, delicious, satisfying vegetarian meals.  I love the creativity involved in assessing what foods we have on hand and whipping up a good meal from it.  Sometimes, it's just pretty awesome. :)

I have many years' experience in vegetarian food, meal preparation and eating (Yeah!!).  My sweetheart, Joey, has been getting excited about meatless meals and the creativity involved in putting together a nice meal that doesn't require animal flesh.  We live together and both enjoy cooking.  It's nice to have two cooks in the house!  He actually wants to own his own Italian restaurant someday.

Although I am currently not 100% vegetarian, I have at times been vegetarian and vegan.  It is my favorite way of eating, although it does require discipline in a world that caters to non-vegetarians.  While we occasionally eat meat (Joey is open to eating different creatures that I won't eat), a lot of our meals that we prepare at home are vegetarian or mostly vegetarian.  While I fell off the (vegetarian) wagon a while ago while living with him, and I want to return to it, I am not forcing vegetarianism on him, and we are still enjoying many a good veg meal.

That's all for now.  This is a new blog.  I have much work to do here, including tweeking the "About Me" until I am satisfied.

  1. I tried veg last year, and it lasted all but two days LOL.. with my kid in the house it's sort of difficult.. he is a really good cook and enjoys cooking. He does a lot of the cooking and I clean up. I do eat a TON of produce though, not a heavy meat eater, but I do like fish and get hankerings for chix wings sometimes LOL. Maybe your blog will inspire me to start making more things and wean off meat!
